The West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand is a rugged, primeval region of luxuriant rain forest and braided river valleys.

This trail ride has a unique variety of terrain, from hidden alpine valleys and pristine native beech forest. We cross the wilderness of the Mackley River System, visit the historic Denniston coal mine and we'll stay in the west coast towns of Reefton and Murchison. Riding the wild West Coast and meeting the local people is an experience never forgotten.

About The Ride
We have access to many high quality off road trails in the Marlborough and northern West Coast regions and invite you to join us on a five day guided trail ride of this region. We encourage maximum fun, on and off the trails, always with customer safety as the priority. Trails are varied and include 4x4 tracks with a rocky base, native bush single trails, plus plenty of riverbeds and river crossings. The West Coast is genuine wild terrain so be prepared for everything. We look after our clients: our meals are delicious and hearty; accommodation is in fully serviced lodges or comfy motels; and we carry all your gear in our support vehicle. This adventure starts and finishes at St Arnaud.

Who Can Enter This Trail Ride
This ride is suitable only for solo riders. You will need a road legal dirt bike of 250 to 600 cc. . It must be well prepared with knobbly tyres and you will need to carry basic tools and spares . The rider should be of a reasonable standard of fitness and skills capability to suit a variety of off road conditions is essential. You must have appropriate off-road riding gear for all possible weather conditions.
