Setup Tips

We recommend and use these Yamaha bikes

XT660R WR250F WR450F XT660Z WR250R

We make the following modifications; (after your local bike shop has removed all emission control, small carb jets, and other performance robbing gear)

- If planning to ride distances greater than 100kms, on the WR450F, you will need to consider fitting a bigger fuel tank.    GYTR have the Safari brand 13 litre tank available

- The WR250F has a fuel range of more than 140 kms.

-The WR250R has a fuel range of approx 160-180km.

-Fit bushbars. We use and recommend BARKBUSTERS (Australia)

-We fit HYDE DEVELOPMENTS (South Africa) sump guards to our fleet bikes. (The original, WR250F and WR450F, sump guards are well proven, but tend to allow excess dirt to build up between the sump guard and underside of the engine)

-We recommend and fit SCORPION RACING (Canada) radiator guards to our WR450F and WR250F.

-We recommend fitting heavy duty tubes to both wheels, especially if riding in rocky terrain. We use IRC Heavy Duty Tubes

-WR250F/450F and other machines fitted with a Keihin FCR carburettor.
Re-route one carburettor vent hose up into the airbox. Any one will do, except the drain pipe from the bottom of the carb. This will ensure the bike keeps running when crossing deep (ish) streams or rivers.

RIDERS SAFETY GEAR

- We wear FLY RACING MX Shirts

- We highly recommend LEATT neck braces and jackets

- SHOEI Helmets are what we put on our heads

- ASTERIX knee braces on our knees

- DRIRIDER Rally-X Pro Jackets and trousers
