We highly recommend and use the following Yamaha models. All models are fully road legal in New Zealand.

We make the following modifications; (after your local bike shop has removed all emission control, small carb jets, and other performance robbing gear)

Re-route one carburetor vent hose up into the airbox. This will ensure the bike keeps running when crossing streams or rivers.

If planning to ride distances greater than 100kms you will need to consider fitting a bigger fuel tank. We believe Ballards have produced a 10 litre, and possibly an even larger,  fuel tank for the WR450F.

The WR250F has a fuel range of more than 140 plus kms.  The TTR250 has a similar fuel range to the WR250F

Fit bushbars. We use and recommend Barkbusters. Fortunately the WR250F and WR450F are factory fitted with alloy reinforced bushbars.(in NZ)

We recommend fitting heavy duty tubes front and rear especially if riding in rocky terrain such as South Island New Zealand.
